Jalandhar September 16 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar is committed to spread awareness through community service related drives and campaigns. Keeping this intact, NSS unit and Red Ribbon Club of the college in collaboration with NACO Jalandhar and Civil Hospital Jalandhar organized a series of events to spread awareness about HIV AIDS. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu in his message conveyed that youth is a group that is at high risk and these intensified campaigns should be organized regularly to keep the youngsters aware about this deadly virus.
He appreciated the role of NACO and agreed for full cooperation in this campaign in future as well. Prof. Satpal Singh, Chief Program officer, NSS, informed that multiple activities like online quiz, awareness lecture, poster making competition and awareness rally were organized in the college. Total 147 students participated in the quiz, 31 participated in poster making event and more than 80 NSS volunteers and Red Ribbon Club members participated in the rally.
Mr. Deepak, from NACO Jalandhar, in his lecture, described the causes and preventions of HIV AIDS. The top 10 performers in these multiple events were given medals as well. Dr. Harjit Singh HoD, Mathematics, Dr. Manpreet Singh Lehal and Prof. Jasdeep Singh were also present during the flag off of the rally.
