Jalandhar February 2 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- PG Department of Commerce and Management of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, organised a seminar on the Union Budget 2026: Analytical Insights under the able guidance of Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla. It aimed at enhancing students’ understanding of the Union Budget presented by honourable Finance Minister Mrs.Nirmala Sitharaman, focusing on its implications for the Indian economy, trade, and industry. The distinguished resource persons of the seminar were CA Ashwani Kumar Randeva, a practicing Chartered Accountant with over four decades of professional experience and CA Gurleen Singh Sahni having expertise in Indirect Taxes, Forensic Audit, Fraud Detection, Artificial Intelligence, and Concurrent Audit of Banks.
Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla emphasized that such seminars bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, enabling students to become informed and responsible future professionals. She appreciated the efforts of the PG Department of Commerce and Management for organizing such a relevant and enriching academic activity. Mrs. Meenu Kohli, Head of the Department highlighted the significance of understanding the Union Budget for Commerce students and encouraged them to develop analytical thinking.

CA Gurleen Singh Sahni highlighted the implications of budget on common masses focusing specially on indirect taxes. He mentioned that there is no change in the GST limit for registration. It focuses on ease of compliance, technology readiness, without harrasment to common masses and cleaning the loopholes of system by making it simpler. He also emphasized the concept of ‘Corporate Mitra’ and its benefits for students as introduced in budget. CA Ashwani Kumar Randeva focused on the need for Union budget and various sources of income and expenditure of the government, which is the base of preparing budget.
He also highlighted the reasons for fall in stock market. Commerce Club incharge, Dr. Seema Khanna presented a formal vote of thanks and encouraged students to stay updated with national economic developments and highlighted the importance of financial literacy in today’s dynamic world. The stage proceedings were efficiently conducted by Mrs. Shefali Kashyap. The seminar concluded with an interactive question-answer session, making the event highly informative and engaging. On this occasion, Mrs.Binoo Gupta, Mrs. Meenu Kundra, Dr.Kajal Puri, Mrs.Savita Mahendru, Dr.Minakshi Duggal Mehta,Dr.Jaspreet Kaur and other faculty members from Commerce Department were also present.
