Apeejay College of Fine Arts

Jalandhar October 8 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- All departments at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, organize educational tours to provide students with practical knowledge. As part of this initiative, the Department of Applied Arts organized an educational visit to “Evergreen Publications” to offer students practical experience in the professional publishing and printing industry. A total of 35 students from the BFA and MFA Applied Arts programs participated in this visit.

During the visit, the students gained practical insights into various stages of publication—such as design, illustration, printing, and production—and understood how their academic knowledge is applied in a professional setting. Ms. Ronita Chopra and Ms. Riya Chopra, Managing Partners at Nova Publications, interacted with the students and shared valuable insights about the publishing industry and its professional operations.

Sharing her views on this educational tour, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra stated that bookish knowledge alone is insufficient for the holistic development of students; imparting practical knowledge to those pursuing professional courses is the need of the hour. She remarked that such tours not only provide an enriching learning experience but also help students understand professional work practices and explore career opportunities in publishing, illustration, and graphic design.

Appreciating the efforts of Mr. Anil Gupta, Head of the Applied Art Department, and the other faculty members in successfully organizing this tour, she urged them to continue such initiatives in the future so that students can be assisted in finding suitable livelihood opportunities.
