Jalandhar June 6 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The 10-Day Combined Annual Training Camp-37 (CATC) commenced today at the campus of DAV University, Jalandhar, under the aegis of the 2 Punjab NCC Battalion. The rigorous and character-building camp is scheduled to conclude on June 15.
The camp was formally inaugurated by Colonel Dalbir Singh, officiating Commanding Officer. In his inspiring inaugural address to the gathering, Colonel Singh emphasized the foundational role of camp training in the National Cadet Corps (NCC). He highlighted how these camps act as a crucible for developing leadership, discipline, camaraderie, and national integration among the youth.
A total of 597 cadets from various schools and colleges are participating in this residential training program. Over the next ten days, the cadets will undergo a well-rounded training schedule designed for holistic development which includes physical exercises and fitness routines, rigorous military drill practice, in-depth classes on NCC theory subjects, competitive games and sports activities, cultural events to showcase talent and foster team spirit.
The extensive ground-level arrangements and preparations to ensure the smooth execution of the camp were meticulously overseen by Subedar Major Gulzar Singh. To mentor and guide the cadets through their intensive daily schedules, Associated NCC Officers (ANOs) Lt. Rahul Bhardwaj, Lt. Ahmed Hussain, C/O Vinay Kumar, C/O V.K. Suri and S/O Vandana Sharma are stationed at the camp.
Furthermore, a dedicated contingent of other army officers and instructional staff are actively attending the camp to provide specialized training and administrative support. The camp promises to provide an enriching and transformative experience, preparing the cadets to become responsible and disciplined citizens of the nation.
