Jalandhar September 15 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar organized a special lecture and various activities to commemorate the Hindi Diwas. Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Pankaj Mala Sharma, Retired Professor and Ex-Chairperson Music Department and Ex Dean Faculty of Fine Arts, Panjab University, Chandigarh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest . Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ekta Khosla warmly welcomed the distinguished guests and highlighted the significance of the Hindi language and encouraged the students to contribute actively to the promotion and dissemination of the Hindi Language.
Further, Principal Dr. Khosla remarked that Hindi is a language of emotions and emphasized the need to develop and strengthen Hindi in the field of technology as well. Moreover, Principal Dr. Khosla encouraged the students to communicate more frequently in Hindi and also contribute to its wider use and promotion. The Chief Guest, Dr. Pankaj Mala Sharma, shed light on the importance of Hindi and emphasized that we should respect our mother tongue and must promote Hindi at the Global level. She observed that Hindi is a language that embraces and accommodates the diversity of languages in society with ease.
A Hindi awareness rally was also organized
It provides a natural medium for expressing feelings of love, cooperation, and harmony. She stressed that remaining conscious of and committed to our language and culture is a collective responsibility. She encouraged the students to pledge to use Hindi more extensively and contribute to its promotion and propagation. As part of the programme, a signature campaign was conducted to raise awareness about the Hindi language. A Hindi awareness rally was also organized, in which students participated enthusiastically and conveyed the message of respecting and promoting Hindi. A Nukkad Natak, written and directed by Dr. Jyoti Gogia, was also staged on the occasion.
Through the play, the importance of Hindi and the need for its wider use were conveyed in an effective and engaging manner. Various competitions, including poetry, essay writing, and poster-making, were organized for the students to mark the Hindi Diwas. The students participated enthusiastically and showcased their creative talents. The winners and outstanding performers were felicitated with prizes. On the occasion, the Hindi Department’s e-magazine, Sahitya Avalokan, was also released.
The entire programme was organized under the supervision of Dr. Jyoti Gogia and Dr. Meenu Talwar. On this eve, faculty members from the department of Hindi viz. Dr. Pawan Kumari, and Dr. Deepti Dhir were also present. The programme conveyed a significant message to the students, inspiring them to develop a sense of respect, pride, and responsibility towards the Hindi language.
