PCM S.D. College for Women Organizes Exhibition of Handmade Recycled Items to Promote Sustainability

Jalandhar March 5 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar organized an “Exhibition of Handmade Recycled Items” under the aegis of the Eco Club with the objective of promoting sustainability and encouraging eco-friendly habits among students. The event was conducted in collaboration with the PG Department of Fashion Designing and IIC, aiming to inspire creativity while reinforcing the importance of environmental conservation.

The exhibition showcased a variety of innovative and aesthetically appealing items prepared by students using recycled and waste materials. These included decorative pieces, utility products, fashion accessories, and home décor items creatively crafted from paper, fabric scraps, plastic bottles, and other reusable materials. The initiative highlighted the concept of “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle” and emphasized the role of youth in adopting sustainable lifestyles.

To further strengthen the message of environmental responsibility, students also took a solemn pledge to incorporate eco-friendly habits into their daily lives. They committed themselves to minimizing waste, reducing plastic usage, promoting recycling practices, and spreading awareness about sustainability within their communities.

The event was organized under the able guidance of Mr. Samarth Sharma, CEO, National EduTrust of India

Members of the Eco Club, faculty from the PG Department of Fashion Designing, and IIC were present to encourage and motivate the participants. The event was held with the support of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, under the Environment Education Programme, State Nodal Agency Punjab State Council for Science and Technology, and CDC, GNDU. The event was organized under the able guidance of Mr. Samarth Sharma, CEO, National EduTrust of India.

President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, other honourable members of the Managing Committee, and the worthy Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar appreciated the commendable efforts of the Eco Club and the collaborating departments for organizing such a meaningful initiative. They lauded the students for their creativity and commitment towards building a greener and more sustainable future.
