Jalandhar March 3 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay Education, Jalandhar, continues to make significant contributions towards the preservation and promotion of fine arts by organizing cultural programmes from time to time. While its mission is to take India’s rich cultural heritage to the masses, it simultaneously strives to provide new dimensions to the talents of not only its students but also its faculty members. Apeejay Education not only offers a vibrant platform to students at the Rajeshwari Stya Auditorium, Jalandhar but also encourages them to soar higher by organizing distinguished performances at some of the country’s most prestigious auditoriums. In this spirit, the dance-drama ‘Krishnam’, dedicated to the divine leelas of Lord Krishna, was magnificently staged on 1 March 2026 at the Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh.

Welcoming the distinguished guests, Dr. Sucharita Sharma, Director, Apeejay Education, Jalandhar, stated that the staging of ‘Krishnam’ at Tagore Theatre was made possible under the patronage and guidance of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairperson of Apeejay Stya and Svran Group and Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University. Her visionary commitment to preserving India’s rich culture and heritage and her constant encouragement to provide students of Apeejay institutions with opportunities across the nation continue to inspire such grand cultural initiatives.

Dr. Sharma further shared that the life of the Founder Chairman, Dr. Stya Paul, stands as a living embodiment of the teachings of Lord Krishna. A true karmayogi, he remained dedicated to his duties, committed to purposeful action until the final phase of his life, and was a personality marked by humility and steadfast resolve.

The captivating presentation of ‘Krishnam’ featured 60 artists from Apeejay educational institutions who portrayed 14 significant episodes from Krishna’s life, including Krishna Janma, Kaliya Mardan, the sacred love of Radha-Krishna, Raasleela and the celebration of Holi with the Gopis, the episode of the Pandavas’ game of dice, Draupadi Cheer Haran, Meera Bai’s unparalleled devotion to Krishna, as well as the symbolic significance of the peacock feather adorning Krishna’s crown and the divine story behind the flute he carries.

The success of ‘Krishnam’ was a testament to the collective effort of the teachers and students of Apeejay institutions, who undertook the music composition, vocal and instrumental performances, theatrical execution, costume designing, screen visual design, and overall production.

The event was graced by Mr. Vivek Pratap Singh as the Chief Guest, while Mr. Naunihal Singh and Ms. Garima Singh attended as Special Guests. Dr. Siddharth Sharma, Advisor to the Government of Haryana and Member of the Khadi and Village Industries Board, UT, played a significant role in the successful execution of the programme.

Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the esteemed guests and the audience for their gracious presence and support.
