Jalandhar January 10 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The second day of the seven-day NSS camp at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar proved to be highly informative for students. Alongside raising awareness about serious issues such as HIV and AIDS, the sessions also highlighted the origin and significance of the Swarnim Bharat theme for a developing nation like India.
The technical session was featured by Mr. Jagjeet Singh as the resource person. He is the Project Coordinator at the Ludhiana office of Apollo Tyres Healthcare Centre “Pehla”, an NGO completing 30 years of service in 2026. With years of experience in HIV prevention, patient counselling, and community awareness programmes across Punjab, he has worked closely with hospitals, health centres, and educational institutions. His awareness initiatives on HIV, TB, and STIs have positively impacted countless lives, especially among the youth. He discussed the causes of HIV and AIDS, methods of prevention, alarming statistics in Punjab, and the underlying reasons for its spread in the state.

Another session was addressed by Dr. Anjana from the Department of Hindi of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar. Speaking on the Swarnm Bharat theme, she explained that its foundation lies in the wisdom of the Saptarishis. Their knowledge, values, and visionary thinking shaped India’s ancient civilisation. Their teachings extended beyond spirituality to science, ethics, and righteous living. Even today, their wisdom continues to guide the vision of a progressive and enlightened India. She also shared insights on who the Saptarishis were and how their knowledge, penance, and foresight contributed to the making of a Golden India.
Expressing her views, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra appreciated the NSS Wing’s efforts to connect students with the rich Vedic heritage in this technological age, calling the initiative truly commendable.
