Jalandhar December 27 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- A Valedictory Session of a Seven Day Special NSS camp was sought in Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya Jalandhar. In this concluding day, the certificate and prize distribution function was organized under the leadership and able guidance of industrious Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen. Dr. Amandeep Singh, the Head of the department of Physical Education, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar and Director of Youth Welfare was the Chief Guest and Sarpanch Balwinder Kaur of the Village Gillan was the Guest of the honour for the occasion.
The last day of the camp started with the lighting of the holy camp by the chief guest. Mrs. Navroop, Dean Youth Welfare and NSS adviser Dr. Anjana Bhatia welcomed the guests with Green Planters and Traditional Cloth “Phulkari” After following the DAV Gaan, The chief guest Dr. Amandeep Singh praised the social work that was done by the volunteers during this camp and inspired them to develop the qualities of leadership by discovering the latent potential. He focused upon value of education, importance of being human and difference between human and animal life. Further, he also presented a motivational Punjabi Poem “Naujwan Nu Vangaar”.
After that Sarpanch Balwinder Kaur shared her educational and professional life with one and all. She encouraged the youth to participate enthusiastically in the process of national development and she also emphasized on major issues like women empowerment. Programme coordinator Dr. Veena Arora presented the report of the camp and said that during this camp, NSS volunteers undertook various cleanliness tasks under “Swachh Bhart Abhiyan.” They whitewashed the tree trunks, painted inspiring slogans, De-Addiction Rally and planted plants in the village Gillan, made the people aware pertaining to health issues etc.

On this concluding day, volunteers participated in diary writing, in best out of the waste competition and also presented their experiences of the camp through power point presentation. On the occasion, students sung a patriotic song and filled mettle in one and all presented over there. On this day, NSS volunteers were awarded certificates and prizes by the chief guest for rendering their selfless service towards society during this camp. Mrs. Navroop, Dean Youth Welfare motivated Volunteers with a Punjabi Poem. NSS Advisor Dr. Anjana Bhatia motivated students for NSS Programme.
At the end of the day, Ms. Harmanu Paul, Programme coordinator delivered a vote of thanks and suggested all the NSS volunteers for keeping this spirit high ahead. Dr. Jyoti Gogia, from the department of Hindi conducted the stage for the occasion. On this occasion, from teaching staff, Lt. Sonia Mahendru, Ms. Harpreet Kaur, Dr. Baljinder Singh, Dr. Shuchi Sharma, Dr. Sandeep Kaur, Dr. Mandeep Kaur, Mr.Parminder Singh and From Non-Teaching staff Mr. Lakhwinder Singh, Mr. Kewal Krishan, and Mr. Tarun Mahajan were also present. The occasion was ended by following the National Antham.
