Students Explore the Art of Sculpture in Skill Enhancement Classes at Apeejay College of Fine Arts

Jalandhar May 5 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Skill enhancement classes are currently being conducted at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, for students who have recently completed their +2 examinations. As part of these classes, students are gaining valuable insights into the art of sculpture, which is recognized at the international level.

Mr. Basudev Biswas from the Sculpture Department, along with Dr. Mohinder Mastana, Head, Department of Sculpture, is training students not only in clay modeling but also in the use of paper clay, Plaster of Paris, and M-Seal for sculpture creation. The students are being guided in crafting both round and relief sculptures, enabling them to understand shape and form within both two-dimensional and three-dimensional frameworks.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra shared her thoughts on the ongoing skill enhancement sessions, stating that this is the perfect time for students to make meaningful use of their creativity. She emphasized the college’s commitment to providing a platform that allows students to channel their energy in a productive way. She also highlighted that a strong inclination towards art plays a significant role in supporting students’ mental well-being.

She appreciated the efforts of Ms. Rajni Gupta and Dr. Seema Sharma for the successful and meaningful organization of these skill enhancement classes.
