Saksham Punjab organized sensitization drive and Techno Cultural Fest in HMV

Jalandhar September 3 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Psychology and Music Department of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized sensitization drive in collaboration with Saksham Punjab, an organization devoted to the blind people. Around 100 students were sensitized by telling them about the problems being faced by blind people. To achieve this objective, Project Director Dr. Aarti and her team sensitized the students through various activities. These activities were walking blindfoldedly and using Brail script for studying so that students should understand the problems faced by blind people in their life. A quiz on blind people was also organized. Poster Making and Slogan Writing Competitions were also organized.

Mrs. Divya Kharbanda from Nivia Sports was the Chief Guest of the occasion. She appreciated the efforts and assured her full support. Tiny tots of Saksham School sang “Hum Honge Kamyab.” And everyone was filled with hope and energy. The 2nd day was a day of Techno Cultural Fest in which a number of activities were organized for the blind people. Blind persons from all over India participated in these activities. Director Punjab Kesari Group Mr. Abhijay Chopra, Mrs. Parveen Abrol and Mr. Aghosh Mittal were the guests of the day. 25 blind students were given Smart Phones with Android Tablets and Keyboard. 4 days training was given to apprise them about the usage of these devices.

Mr. Krishan from Delhi Saksham showcased the usage of Laptop for reading and writing. Chief Guest was really surprised and happy with the initiatives of the organization. This programme was organized under the guidance of General Secretary Saksham Punjab Mrs. Deepika Sood and Head of Music Department HMV Dr. Prem Sagar. Dr. Aarti, Mrs. Sonali, Mr. Vikas and Mr. Yatin gave their full support. The winners of various competitions were given Smart Watches, Bluetooth Speakers and Ear Pads as prizes. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, Dr. Ashmeen Kaur, Head of Psychology Department, Dr. Navroop Kaur, Head of Punjabi Department felt elated on the success of this programme.
