Jalandhar November 12 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar continued its impressive run in the field of cultural activities by winning the second runners up trophy along with runner up trophies in Music, Folk and Literary events at Guru Nanak Dev University Inter-Zonal Youth Festival. The college won the second runners up trophy by scoring 73 points. Sardarni Balbir Kaur, President Governing Council congratulated Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh and his entire cultural team and winners on this achievement.
Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh informed that the college won first prize in 04 events, second in 08 events and third in 07 events en route to claiming the trophy. He said added that the college was proud are very proud of its talented students and was committed to their all round development. Before this, the College won the overall trophy in the Zonal Youth Festival of Guru Nanak Dev University in 2014-15 and 2015-16 and 2018-19 and first runner up in the years 2016-17 and 2017-18, 2021-22 and 2023-24.
He congratulated Dean Cultural Affairs Dr. Palwinder Singh, Incharges of different events Prof. Sukhdev Singh, Dr. Surinder Pal Mand, Prof. Satpal Singh, Dr. Harjinder Singh Sekhon, Dr. Manju Joshi, Dr. Ajitpal Singh, Dr. Pooja Rana, Prof. Surbjit Singh, staff and students of the college on this achievement. Positions won by the college in the multiple events are as follows:
•First Prize: Bhangra, Geet/Gazal, Cartooning and Phulkari
•Second Prize: Group Song Indian, Costume Parade, Skit, Kawishri, Debate, Group Dance (Ludi), Western Vocal Song and Western Inst. Solo.
•Third Prize: Folk Orchestra, Group Shabad, Folk Song, Quiz, Classical Inst. (P), Vaar Singing and Elocution.
