Innocent Hearts Group celebrates International Yoga Day with the theme ‘Yoga for Self and Society’

Jalandhar June 21 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Under the aegis of ‘Disha-An Initiative’ run by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, a yoga session was organized at Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions, Loharan Campus to celebrate the tenth International Yoga Day under the theme ‘Yoga for Self and Society’ in which the teaching and non-teaching staff of Innocent Hearts participated. Students and their parents also participated in this yoga session. This session was conducted by Assistant Professor Muskan Gaba and Mrs. Puneet Sahajal who are certified yoga instructors. They emphasized that yoga is an art, a science of living a healthy life.

It maintains balance in the body, brings strength and flexibility. They taught the proper technique of performing various asanas like Bhujang Asana, Veerbhadra Asana, Marakat Asana and Surya Namaskar. Then they focused on breathing pranayama. She demonstrated and made everyone do the pranayama ‘Anulom-Vilom and Kapalbhati’. Ms. Puneet Sahajal explained the benefits of each asana and pranayama. She motivated everyone to stay fit.

The Red ribbon club of Innocent Hearts College of Education enacted a drama on the theme of “Art of living incorporating the spirit of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ which is consistently being maintained among the Indian states.” The drama showcased how yoga, pranayama and meditation can bring a positive change in the life of a drug addict.

Dr. Anup Bowry Chairman, Innocent Hearts Group said that good health should be everyone’s priority. Therefore, everyone must do some exercise to stay fit. He said that yoga science is a spiritual discipline that helps in bringing harmony between mind and body.
