Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organised a Special Ceremony Dedicated to International Women’s Day

International Women’s Day

Jalandhar March 9 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya (HMV), Jalandhar organized a dignified ceremony dedicated to women’s strength and dignity on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The event was organized by the Holistic Cell and Women Empowerment Cell in collaboration with Nari Chetna Welfare Society (Regd.) under the inspiring guidance of the Principal, Dr. Ekta Khosla. The programme began with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp and welcome of the Chief Guests, Mrs. Sanchi Dutta and Simroni Kaur.

The event was also graced by the presence of distinguished members of Nari Chetna Welfare Society including Chief Patron Mrs. Kusum Sharma, President Mrs. Anju Sharma, Secretary Sanjay Gupta, Joint Secretary Mrs. Kuljit Kaur, Treasurer Anita Batla, Raman Sharma, Advisor Prof. Madhu Sethi, Media Advisor Ms. Amanjeet Kaur and Pinky Bedi along with other esteemed members. Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla congratulated Mrs. Kuljit Kaur (Incharge, Holistic Cell) and Mrs. Protima Mander (Incharge, Women Empowerment Cell) for organizing the event.

She appreciated the efforts of Nari Chetna Welfare Society for its commendable work in promoting women empowerment, awareness and self-reliance in society. She also expressed hope that the organization will continue to work for the upliftment of women and the overall development of society in the future. Mrs. Kusum Sharma introduced the Nari Chetna Welfare Society and highlighted it’s main aim as make women aware of their rights so that they can actively contribute to the development of society. The programme was further enriched by vibrant cultural performances by the students. Mrs. Kuljit Kaur also delivered a PowerPoint presentation.

Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla was honoured with a phulkari and a memento

On this special occasion, Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla was honoured with a phulkari and a memento in recognition of her invaluable contribution to the field of education and her exemplary leadership. Several women who have made remarkable contributions to society were also felicitated. Jaspreet Kaur (District Language Officer, Kapurthala) was honoured for her significant contribution to the promotion of the Punjabi language. Mrs. Kusum Sharma was specially honoured for her dedicated service to society, while Amarjeet Kaur and Kuljit Kaur received appreciation awards.

In addition, Mrs. Sheela Khanna, Satish Ji and other social workers were also honoured for their contributions. Chief Guests Manjeet Kaur and Sanchi Dutta were also felicitated for their service to society. Mrs. Protima Mander, Incharge of the Women Empowerment Cell, was also honoured for her excellent work. She proposed the vote of thanks and expressed gratitude to all the distinguished guests and participants for making the event successful.
