Empower her: PCM SD College Paves Way with Mammography Camp on International Women’s Day

Jalandhar March 8 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Women Empowerment Cell in collaboration with Rotary Club, Jalandhar West, organized a one-day Mammography Camp in Village Patara under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan Scheme on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The aim of this initiative was to provide accessible healthcare services to women in rural areas, focusing on breast health awareness and early detection of breast cancer. A team of medical professionals, Dr S.P.S Grover and Dr Harleen Grover from New Ruby Hospital, Jalandhar were present to conduct mammography screenings and provide medical consultations to the attendees.

Mr P.S. Bindra, President, Rotary Club, Mrs Shikha Juneja, Secretary, Mr Jagdish Kataria, Chairman, Dr Kuldeep Singh, Project Chairman and Dr P. R Chaudhary were the representatives from Rotary Club. Women aged 40 and above were encouraged to undergo mammography screenings to detect any signs of breast abnormalities or cancerous growths.

The screenings were conducted using state-of-the-art equipment, ensuring accurate results. The success of this initiative underscores the significance of community-driven healthcare interventions in addressing critical health issues and improving the overall well-being of women in rural areas through collaborative initiatives and community engagement.
