Jalandhar September 10 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Talent Carnival 2026 at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, came alive with the melodious voice of Mr. Peji Shahkoti. The long-awaited event was organized with great enthusiasm and zeal. The first day of this vibrant program kicked off with various off-stage competitions that showcased the students’ creativity, intellect, and artistic flair. First-year students from all departments demonstrated their artistic talents through events such as on-the-spot painting, collage making, poetry recitation, elocution, photography, cartooning, and clay modeling. Each competition gave the students an opportunity to display their imagination, innovative ideas, and artistic skills.

On stage competitions in music vocal, instrumental music, theatre, and dance were organized on the second day of the Talent Carnival. Mr. Peji Shahkoti—son of the renowned singer Shri Puran Shahkoti, younger brother of Master Saleem, and an acclaimed singer in the Bollywood and Pollywood industries—attended this carnival as the chief guest. Dr. Sucharita Sharma, Director of the Apeejay Education Society, attended as a special guest. Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra welcomed the chief guest by presenting a floral bouquet.

Apeejay College is truly an ocean of art

Expressing happiness over the enthusiastic participation of the students, Principal Dr. Dhingra stated that the Talent Carnival is not merely a platform for showcasing talent but also a medium to bring out the latent potential within the students. She remarked that Apeejay College is truly an ocean of art which, year after year, becomes home to talented gems skilled in various art forms, further enhancing the beauty of this artistic ocean. It is a source of joy to see our new students participating with such creativity and flair. Such events not only hone their skills but also instill qualities such as confidence and discipline, which will propel them forward in every sphere of life.

The entire auditorium came alive with the students’ enthusiasm and zeal as they participated in their respective competitions, making Talent Carnival 2026 a memorable event. Ms. Sarvapriya and Ms. Deepali served as judges for the vocal music competition; Dr. Seema Sharma and Dr. Sumit Singh judged the musical instrument category; Dr. Santosh Vyas and Ms. Mannat (a teacher at Apeejay School) judged the dance competitions; and Mr. Krantipal and Mr. Amandeep Singh served as judges for the theatrical events.

Experts from the faculty at the college served as judges for the competitions in literature, fine arts, and home science. At Talent Carnival 2026, Ms. Anuradha and Ms. Chetna conducted the proceedings with utter grace and success. While highly appreciating the efforts of the event organizers and college cultural coordinators—Dr. Arun Mishra, Dr. Amita Mishra, Dr. Monica Anand, Dr. Payal Arora, and Dr. Mickey Verma—in successfully hosting the Apeejay Talent Carnival 2026, Dr. Dhingra expressed hope that they would continue to play a pivotal role in the successful organization of similar events at the college.
