Jalandhar April 6 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The National AIDS Control Programme Cell of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar organized a Declamation Contest on the topic “Overcoming Disruption, Transforming the AIDS Response.” The aim of the activity was to spread awareness among students about HIV/AIDS and encourage them to express their ideas regarding prevention, awareness, and responsible behaviour.
Students participated enthusiastically in the contest and delivered thought-provoking speeches highlighting that HIV attacks the body’s immune system, and if not treated in time, it may progress to AIDS, which is the final stage of the infection. They also emphasized the importance of awareness, early testing, prevention, and removing the social stigma associated with HIV/AIDS. The participants used the platform to educate their peers about adopting healthy lifestyles and supporting those affected by the disease.
The event proved to be highly informative and helped students develop confidence while also sensitizing them to an important public health issue.
