Jalandhar January 30 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar celebrated its Annual Sports Day with immense enthusiasm, energy, and a vibrant display of sportsmanship at the college sports ground, Brahmkund. The event was graced by the distinguished Chief Guest S. Gurjot Singh, International Hockey Player, whose inspiring presence added prestige to the occasion. The event was organised with the objective of promoting physical fitness, teamwork, discipline, and the spirit of healthy competition among students and staff.
The programme commenced with a ceremonial march-past showcasing discipline and coordination, followed by the Saraswati Vandana. Thereafter, the worthy Principal, Dr. Pooja Prashar, formally welcomed the gathering and highlighted the notable achievements of the ⁰Sports Department, motivating students to excel both in academics and sports. The lighting of the sports torch symbolised the true spirit of sportsmanship and fair play.
Students enthusiastically participated in a wide range of track and field events including races, relays, long jump, shot put, kho-kho, tug of war, and various fun games, displaying remarkable talent, determination, and endurance. Special games such as tug of war and musical chairs were also organised for teachers, which were enjoyed with great enthusiasm and added a lively and joyful spirit to the celebrations.

The Annual Sports Day was successfully organised under the able supervision of Ms. Manpreet Kaur and Mrs. Harvinder Kaur, In-charges of the event, whose dedicated efforts ensured smooth coordination of all activities. The Vote of Thanks was presented by Shri Vinod Dada, Senior Vice President of the Managing Committee, expressing gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the event.
