Jalandhar August 25 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Under the esteemed guidance of Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, the Chandrayaan Vipnet Club of the PG Department of Physics commemorated National Space Day. The primary objective of this celebration was to enlighten students about the numerous milestones accomplished by ISRO and to inspire them to pursue careers in the field of space exploration. Dr. Saloni Sharma, Head of the PG Department of Physics, along with Dr. Sushil, the In-charge of the Chandrayaan Vipnet Club, cordially welcomed Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dean Academics, Mrs. Deepshikha, Science Faculty In-charge and Dr. Anjana Bhatia, Dean Innovation, with a planter.
Dr. Saloni Sharma articulated the purpose behind the National Space Day festivities, while Dr. Sushil Kumar elaborated on the club’s various initiatives. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen extended her congratulations to the department for the successful orchestration of the event. Also present on this occasion were Dr. Simmi Garg, Dr. Vandna, Dr. Sakshi, and Ms. Purnima. The event featured a series of competitions, including: Poster Making Competition and Rangoli Competition. Poster-Making competition was arranged around the theme of “Space Achievements of India.” Students from B.Sc Non-Med and C.Sc of Sem I, III and V participated enthusiastically. Participants provided detailed explanations of their posters.

The first prize was awarded to Mannat, Muskan, and Ankita from B.Sc Sem III, while Mehak and Akshi from B.Sc Sem V secured the second prize. The third prize was jointly awarded to two teams: Ankita and Palak from B.Sc Sem V and Aditi and Bhavya from B.Sc Sem III. Rangoli competition was conducted with the theme of “Past, Present, and Future of Space Technology.” Students exhibited remarkable enthusiasm in this event. Dr. Sakshi and Ms. Purnima presided as judges. The first prize was claimed by Harshita and Parinita from B.Sc Sem III, while Plaksha from B.Sc Sem I was honored with the second prize.
