Jalandhar November 23 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) under the aegis of CURIE grant participated in Inter-University/Inter College/Inter-Collegiate competition in “OPEN- HOUSE 2023” competition organised by Chemical Society, Department of Chemistry, Guru Nanak Dev University in collaboration with American Chemical Society and District Education Office, Amritsar. The event was based on the theme “Chemistry for better living” and had several competitions including rangoli making, Quiz, Paper reading.
Students put their chemistry skills to the test in a fierce competition filled with experiments, challenges and innovative ideas.18 PG students of Department of Chemistry visited labs in Chemistry department, GNDU and learnt various instrumentation techniques like NMR, X-Ray Crystallography and many more. Our UG and Collegiate students have represented college in all the three competitions.
KMV’s College team i.e. Babanpreet Kaur (B.Sc Medical Sem V), Mansi (B.Sc Non Medical Sem V), Rupinder Kaur (B.Sc Non Medical Sem V), and Tanvi (B.Sc Non Medical Sem V) bagged 1st Prize in Inter College Rangoli Competition and in Quiz competition Manveen (B.Sc Medical Sem V), Akriti (B.Sc Medical Sem V) and Beenu Kumari (B.Sc Non Medical Sem V) got 1st Position. Amongst Collegiate Students Suchitra, Bhanu, Sarda and Manpreet of 10+2 Medical bagged 1st Position in Inter School Rangoli Competition.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi lauded the efforts of PG Department of Chemistry for organising this event and averred that such endeavours are a regular feature at KMV.
