Jalandhar March 18 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Inter-departmental Apeejay Basketball League matches were organized by the Department of Physical Education of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar. Four teams – Titans, Eagles, Predators and Warriors, participated in it.
After tough competition, students of Warriors team – Ranbir Kalsi, Ribhav Batra, Vanshaj Sehgal, Abhay Kumar, Saksham Arora, Himanshu Silara and Shivansh Dua stood first and players of team Eagles stood second.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, while honoring the students of the winning team gave them certificates and encouraged them to keep participating in Sports in future too. She also motivated the other participating students to work hard and strive for the best.
Talking about the importance of Sports in general she put forth, At Apeejay we encourage our students to play sports actively for this teaches them the necessary life skills like – discipline, accepting victory and failure alike, team – spirit, leadership qualities etc. She appreciated the efforts of Mr. Sahil Mahay of Department of Physical Education Department for organizing basketball league matches.
