Various activities were conducted on ‘World Health Day’ at Innocent Hearts

World Health Day

Jalandhar April 6 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Under ‘Disha – An Initiative’ run by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust, ‘World Health Day‘ was celebrated in all the five schools of Innocent Hearts (Green Model Town, Loharan, Nurpur Road, Cantt.-Jandiala Road and Kapurthala Road). On this occasion, awareness lectures were given to the students of Grades III and IV to make them aware about food safety. They were taught meditation through the ‘Connecting with Your Soul’ activity. The Sports Club conducted ‘Yogalets’ activity with the students of class VI, in which they were taught to restrain the mind and control the mind through spiritual process.

The Health and Wellness Club conducted ‘Symposium through Peers’ activity with the students of grade VII, in which the discussion was done on World Health Organization. The students gave presentations on ‘Personal Hygiene’ and ‘Nutritious Food’. The students gave a demonstration on healthy diet that how diseases develop due to the absence of healthy and nutritious diet and to overcome these deficiencies it is essential to take nutritious diet. The children were made aware about nutritious diet, cleanliness and food habits.

Poster making activity was conducted with the students of grade VIII by Health and Wellness and Art Club. Tips on healthy diet were shared by the teachers in the classes. In the special assembly the principals told the children that cleanliness plays an important role in building a healthy society. That is why ‘World Health Day’ is celebrated across the world on 7th April to create awareness about health.
