Jalandhar October 17 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Lyallpur Khalsa College is known at the national and International level for the promotion of sports. Keeping this legacy forward, Lyallpur Khalsa College is hosting 75th Senior State Football Championship which is organized by District Football Association. Mr. Sarabjit Singh Samra, Managing Director, Capital Small Finance Bank was the chief guest during the first match of the second day. He was welcomed by Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, President S. Inderjit Singh, Dhyan Chand Awardee Mr. Sushil Kohli and S. Manmohan Singh DFA.
The chief guest in his address opined that today’s young generation must participate in sports for physical development. He appreciated efforts of D.F.A. and Lyallpur Khalsa College to bring state level championship in Jalandhar. Today’s first match was played between the teams of Patiala and Amritsar, which was tied 1-1 at full time and this match was won by the team of Patiala with 4 goals against 3 through tie break.

The chief guest of this match was former international Kabaddi player Sankar Singh Kang. Kapurthala team player Harjot Singh was declared the best player of this match.

Tomorrow, the first semi-final will be played between Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar and Kapurthala at 12:30 pm and the second semi-final will be played between the hosts Jalandhar and Patiala at 2:30 pm.
