Jalandhar October 18 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar has always been at the forefront when it comes to connect students with its rich culture and traditions. Also, it promotes ”Earn while Learn” to instill confidence in them to become more confident.
With the joint efforts of the Department of Fashion Makeover and NSS Wing, a grand event ‘Shri’, The Festival of Karva was organized in the college.
Dr. Neerja Dhingra (Principal, ACFA) while expressing her views said, ” We organize such events to enhance the creativity of students, give them the taste of being an entrepreneur which further leads to giving practical shape to their marketing skills ans encourage earning along with studying. Dr. Dhingra added when a person earns something on their own, he certainly tends to value money more.
Students from different Departments set up 30 stalls in ‘Shri’ The Utsav of Karva, which included mehndi stalls, nail art, accessories, decorated thalis, poojathalis, designer clothes, silver jewellery, food stalls, cosmetics, handmade products and photo booths etc. The mehndi and nail art stalls were most visted by students as well as teachers. The food stalls were also the center of attraction for everyone. This programme will continue on 19th October as well.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra praised the efforts of Dr. Monica Anand (Dean, Functions), Dr. Simki Dev (Dean, NSS Wing) and Ms. Meenal Sandhu of Department of Fashion Makeover for organizing the event successfully.
