Jalandhar March 19 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, proudly presented an enchanting afternoon of rhythm and melody featuring the internationally renowned tabla virtuoso, Ms. Rimpa Siva, who is fondly known as The Princess of Tabla.
This grand musical event was a significant part of the college’s 50th Golden Jubilee Celebrations, which marked five decades of excellence in arts and education. The institution was founded by Seth Stya Paul and continues to uphold its rich legacy under the visionary leadership of Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia, who serves as the President of Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, the Chairperson of Apeejay Education, and the Chancellor of Apeejay Stya University.
Ms. Rimpa Siva, a maestro of rhythm, took the audience on a captivating musical journey through intricate compositions. Her performance included a Teen Taal Peshkar, which showcased the depth of tabla improvisation. She also presented a rare Chaturang Gat, a legacy from her Dada Guru, blending melody, rhythm, and dance syllables. She performed traditional compositions from the Lucknow Gharana, reflecting its grace and precision.

She paid tribute to the legendary Ustad Karamatullah Khan by presenting one of his masterpieces and showcased a composition created by her father, embodying rhythmic brilliance. The performance concluded with an awe-inspiring finale featuring the Lagi Baj technique, where she created the evocative sound of rain on the tabla, transporting the audience into a musical trance.
This performance was a rare opportunity for music lovers, students, and connoisseurs to witness the confluence of tradition and innovation in the world of tabla.
