Jalandhar January 12 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The fourth day of the seven-day NSS camp ‘Saptavaran’ being run by the NSS unit at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar was dedicated to ‘Nature and Environment’. The NSS Volunteers went to Harike Patan Wetland to see, know and understand the importance of preserving nature. The students learnt about the migratory birds and wetlands.
Also, a Photography competition was organised for the students, in which the students took some soulful photographs of birds playing in the lap of nature and picturesque beauty of nature. The volunteers also took an oath that they will not only contribute themselves to preserve the environment but will also make others around them aware about the same.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra expressed happiness seeing the dedication of students. She put forth that when youth becomes aware and active about the important aspects of life; this certainly makes tomorrow more hopeful that the future generations shall also reap the benefits of treasures offered by mother nature.
Dr. Dhingra appreciated the efforts of Dr. Simki Dev, Dean, NSS and Ms. Chetna Sharma, Mr Dipitesh, Ms. Rachita, Mr. Kunj and Mr. Gurvinder Singh for smoothly conducting ‘Saptvaran’ camp and wished them luck for the next days of the 7 day camp.
