Jalandhar June 13 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The English Literary Society of Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar organized a week-long crash course titled ‘English for Everyone’ from June 5th to June 12th. The crash course aimed to build students’ confidence in communicating in English in their everyday lives. The crash course was inaugurated by Principal Dr.Jaspal Singh, along with Vice Principal and Head of the Department Prof. Jasreen Kaur. Dr. Jaspal Singh commended the students for enrolling in the course to enhance their skill set. Prof. Jasreen Kaur emphasized that investing time and effort in learning to communicate effectively in English would significantly improve their career prospects.

Designed to address the real challenges observed by teachers in classrooms, the course covered areas where students typically struggle. Topics included how to greet others in different situations, how to introduce oneself and others in both formal and informal settings, vocabulary building, common pronunciation mistakes, interview skills, body language, and writing letters and resumes. The crash course focused on real-world communication skills through engaging activities, discussions, practical exercises, simulations, and role-playing.

Dr. Geetanjali Mahajan, President of the English Literary Society, conceptualized the programme and noted that immersion is the best way to learn any language. She ensured the course remained light-hearted and enjoyable, so students could learn without feeling burdened. Several faculty members from the Department of English contributed their expertise through interactive sessions, including Dr. Balraj Kaur, Dr. Charanjit, Dr. Manmeet Sodhi, Dr. Manju Joshi, and Prof. Satpal Singh.
