Awareness Programme

Jalandhar December 7 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar always remains at forefront in educational and cultural activities and also plays an important role in fulfilling its duty towards social responsibilities. Considering the same, a social outreach awareness programme was organized at College with the courtesy of the country’s best NGO Goonj in which the key speakers were Mrs. Neena Sondhi – FCS International Marking Pvt. Ltd., Avenger International Pvt. Ltd., Director of FC Sondhi & Company Pvt. Ltd. and Voulunteer at NGO Goonj in Jalandhar.

Mrs. Neena Sondhi, who gave a new dimension and brought awareness among the people to help the village and tribal people adressed the gathering. Ms. Pooja and Mr. Jai from Goonj’s Delhi center were present.

While introducing the main objective of Goonj along with the faculty, Mrs. Neena Sondhi, Ms. Pooja and Mr. Jai said that its objective is to provide help to the needy people consciously according to their culture, environment and needs so that they can benefit from it, thus keeping in mind – Mindful Giving. They shared that the endeavor of GOONJ is to always provide help to the recipients without hurting their self-respect. Talking about the products, they shared that organization makes 120 types of products using everything from needles to the largest items and also retails them.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra expressed her gratitude to Mrs. NeenaSondhi, Ms. Pooja and Mr. Jai and said that undoubtedly they have made us aware of a very sensitive topic today and it will be our endeavor that we also join this welfare work for the welfare of the society and contribute towards upliftment and make the change that we can.
