Jalandhar September 2 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Students of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, consistently uphold the pride and prestige of the college—not only at the state and national levels but also at the international level. Continuing this series of events, Shobhna Aggarwal, a BA 5th semester student, represented the college at the HPAIR Asia Conference (HPAIR ACONF) held in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. The conference was organized at the Diplomatic Academy of Vietnam—the premier educational institution of Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs—under the aegis of VinUniversity.

While participating in key activities at the global conference, Shobhna Aggarwal was not only selected as one of the top six delegates for the conference but also co-authored an independent policy proposal titled “Asian Semiconductor Capability Compact.” During the conference, Shobhna had the opportunity to engage directly with global luminaries—including senior diplomats, policymakers, international development experts, business leaders, and academics—through various speaker sessions, executive seminars, and round table discussions.

She met with Ambassador Nguyễn Phương Nga—Vietnam’s former Deputy Foreign Minister and former Permanent Representative to the United Nations—and gained insights into the nuances of diplomacy, multilateralism, and contemporary international relations. During this period, she had the opportunity to participate in an executive seminar organized by Lesly Goh—Senior Technology Advisor and former Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the World Bank Group—and witness in-depth discussions on geopolitics, technology, international development, and global leadership. Sharing her experience, she stated that given the opportunity, she would certainly continue to participate in other international and national conferences and represent the younger generation. At the conference, Shobhna also captivated the audience with a magnificent performance of Indian classical dance, thereby enhancing the prestige of Indian culture.

Congratulating Shobhna on her remarkable achievement, Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra expressed hope that she would continue to move forward, representing the younger generation, and serve as a source of inspiration for them. Dr. Dhingra also commended the efforts of Dr. Navjot Deol, Head of the PG Department of English, in mentoring Shobhna Aggarwal and guiding her towards higher realms of success.
