Jalandhar April 26 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- HMV Alumnae Welfare Association (Regd.) of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organised Alumnae Meet ‘Punarmilan 2025’ in its campus to reconnect with alumnae and celebrate their achievements under the phenomenal leadership of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs) Ajay Sareen. The function started with the lighting of ceremonial lamp and DAV Gaan. The galaxy of luminaries were welcomed with a green welcome as per the tradition of HMV –Mrs Kiranpreet Kaur Dhami, President of HMV Alumnae Welfare & Mrs. Sarojini Gautam Sharda were welcomed with a green planter by Mrs. Binoo Gupta, Mrs. Savita Mahendru and Dr Kajal Puri.
The Chief Guest Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dean Academics was welcomed by the Advisor, President and Vice President of HMV Alumnae Welfare. The retired teachers and proud of HMV – Dr. Bharti Gaur, Mrs. Susan, Dr. Meenakshi Sayal, Dr. Rama Chaudhary, Dr. Kulwinderjit Kaur were heartily welcomed with green planters. The entire programme was organized by the Advisor Mrs. Binoo Gupta, Secretary Mrs. Savita Mahendru, Joint Secretary Ms. Harmanu, Treasurer and the incharge of the event Mrs. Kajal Puri and the associated team.
A tribute to Mahatma Hans Raj ji was given by Dr. Meenu Talwar
A tribute to Mahatma Hans Raj ji – a pioneer of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalya was given by Dr. Meenu Talwar. The Advisor of the association, Mrs. Binoo Gupta presented formal welcome to all the proud alumnae in their own vibrant institution. She told that more than 150 alumnae attended the meet. She recounted the ex-students of HMV who are at present reputed and influential members of the society in all the fields are enjoying the status of important citizens of India.
Apart from innumerable PCS, IRS, IAS, top ranking educationists, Principals of prestigious institutions, CAs, Lawyers, Judicial Officers & others, the names of Smt. Sarla Grewal, First lady governor of Madhya Pradesh and Principal Secretary of Prime Minister of India; Justice Santosh Duggal, Addl. Secretary, Govt. of India; Mrs. Sumita Dawra, IAS, Additional secretary, Dept. Of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade; Mrs. Bhawna Garg, Topper of 1999 batch of IAS, Deputy Director General UIDAI, Chandigarh; Ms. Manjeet Kaur Arjuna Awardee; Ms. Sunita Rani, Padamshree & Arjuna Awardee, Harmanpreet Kaur Arjuna Awardee, captain of Indian Women Cricket team, Chanderkanta Kaul, Former Captain of Indian Women Cricket team can be counted amongst its distinguished alumni of HMV.
Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed the daughters of the college
Following the theme of the event ‘ Rainbow’, all alumnae dazzled in captivating colours, spreading their hues of beauty and confidence in the campus of HMV. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed the daughters of the college to their own Alma Matar and alongwith them HMV is creating its history of entering into its 99th years. Dr. Rashmi Khurana, Patron HMV Alumnae Welfare Association appreciated the laborious efforts of HMV to recollect alumnae in their own institution and offer them an opportunity to cherish those loving memories of college.
She conveyed her gratitude to Dr ( Mrs) Ajay Sareen. While reading the brief report of HMV Alumnae Association, Mrs. Savita Mahendru mentioned the contribution given by Alumnae through various scholarships which is the legacy of love, and responsibility towards women empowerment.
Mesmerizing dance performances was given by Mrs. Deepika Dua, Singing performance was given by Dr Jyoti Gogia & Ms Gunjan. Memory sharing was done by Alumane Mrs. Vini Kalia from U.K. through her video message. Smt. Sarla Bhardwaj, was honoured with HMV Alumnae Lifetime Achievement Award for her outstanding contribution in Alumnae Association. For their valuable benefaction and constant support, Certificates of Appreciation were presented reverently to, Dr. Kulwinder Dip Kaur, CA Rupali Kohli, Mrs. Deepshikha, Mrs. Kiranpreet Kaur Dhami, Ms. Geeta Dhall, Mrs. Rama Chaudhary, Mrs. Binoo Gupta.
Alumnae 2025 title was given to Ms Gulshan Wadhwa
The modelling round of the event was adjudged by Mrs Susan, Dr Meenakshi Sayal, Dr Bharti Gaur. Participants were honored with different titles – HMV GOLDEN ALUMNAE Mrs. Gurwinder Kaur, HMV GRACEFUL ALUMNAE Mrs. Sarojini, HMV CONFIDENT ALUMNAE Dr kulwinder Kaur, HMV COLORFUL ALUMNAE Dr Rama Chaudhary. The titles HMV Alumnae Graceful was given to Ms. Sukriti Sharma, HMV Alumnae Charming Ms Amrita, HMV Alumnae Elegant Ms Prabhsimran, HMV Alumnae Rainbow Mrs Deepika Dua, & Alumnae 2025 title was given to Ms Gulshan Wadhwa.
Ms Meenakshi was honored with the punctuality Award. Treasurer and incharge of the event Mrs. Kajal Puri presented vote of thanks and expressed her gratitude towards the DAV Managing Committee, Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and all the team members. The stage was successfully conducted by Dr. Jyoti Gogia , Mrs. Anchal & Ms. Sukriti. On this occasion, Mrs. Deepshikha, Dr. Seema Khanna, Mrs Kuljit Kaur,Mrs Shefali Kashyap were also present. Mr. Ashish Chadha,Mr. Arvind and Mr. Rahul were honoured for their valuable services for the Alumnae meet. The function was concluded with the National Anthem.
