Jalandhar January 24 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The NCC and NSS units of Prem Chand Markanda S.D College for Women, Jalandhar In collaboration with Rotary Club (Jalandhar West), Jalandhar Welfare Society and New Ruby Hospital organised a Bone Density and Anemia Check-up Camp on National Girl Child Day.The move demonstrated a strong commitment to women empowerment and community welfare. It aimed at promoting health awareness among both students and outsiders.Dr. S.P.S Grover, renowned cardiologist, owner of New Ruby Hospital and District Governor of Rotary Cub (Jalandhar West) along with Dr. Harneet Grover and his dedicated team, conducted the health check-ups, focusing on bone density and anemia.
The camp witnessed the active participation of students and the wider community. In addition, Dr. Harneet Grover, gynaecologist at Ruby Hospital, provided guidance to students about Cervix Cancer and the need for vaccination for girls aged 9 to 14. She announced a special offer for college girls, offering free vaccination until January 31st, reducing the chances of the disease.Surinder Saini, General Secretary of Jalandhar Welfare Society, graced the occasion, contributing significantly to the success of the health camp.
The event emphasized the college’s commitment to the welfare of not only its students but also the broader community. President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, the esteemed members of the Managing Committee and the worthy Principal Prof. (Dr.)Pooja Prashar commended the NCC and NSS units for their successful organization of the camp.
