Jalandhar September 26 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The PG Department of Computer Science & IT of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, under the aegis of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized an informative webinar on “Guardians of the Digital World: An Introduction to Cyber Security” to sensitize students and faculty members about cyber threats and safe digital practices.
Mr. Devashish Sharma, Cyber Security Engineer, Coder Roots, Mohali, was the resource person. He explained important aspects of cybersecurity, including AI-enabled cyber threats, phishing, online frauds, scams, social engineering, identity theft, malware, and safe digital practices. He also highlighted the importance of strong passwords, protection of personal information, identifying suspicious links and messages, and exercising caution while making digital payments.
The interactive session provided students with practical insights into identifying and preventing common cyber attacks and encouraged them to become responsible and security-conscious digital users.
Dr. Lovely Sharma, Dean, I-Tech Group, also addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of cyber awareness and responsible use of technology. She appreciated Ms. Abantika, Ms. Vineet, Ms. Puneet, and Ms. Chahat for organizing the webinar.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks to the resource person and all those who contributed to its successful organization.
