Jalandhar September 27 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, marked ‘Hindi Diwas’ with a series of intellectually stimulating and culturally enriching activities organised by the B.A. and B.Ed. Departments.
The celebrations sought to foreground the richness of the Hindi language while fostering among students a deeper appreciation of its literary, communicative and cultural significance.
As part of the event, students of the B.A. and B.Ed. programmes demonstrated creativities through an evocative recitation of Hindi poetry and reflections on the significance of the language. Khushboo and Kanishka represented the departments and articulated the enduring relevance of Hindi in contemporary times. The subsequent activities featured a Creative Writing Competition and a ‘Nukkad Natak’, through which students ingeniously explored the utility and vitality of Hindi. The street play, in particular, highlighted the language’s continuing relevance and drew attention to its expanding presence and usage at the global level.
The Competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from nearly forty students, who gave creative expression to their ideas through poems, short stories and essays on diverse themes. The activity provided a vibrant platform for students to engage with Hindi as a language of imagination, expression and critical thought, while also encouraging originality and literary sensibility.
President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, other members of the management and Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar commended the efforts of the department and its Head, Dr. Neena Mittal for organising such meaningful activities rooted in nurturing linguistic awareness, creativity and cultural consciousness among students.
