Jalandhar February 13 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The ‘Hindi Sahitya Dhara’ of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, successfully organized a Literary Contest on Idioms and Proverbs with enthusiastic participation from nearly 18 students of BA and B.Ed.
The event was designed to stimulate students’ interest in Hindi literature while sharpening their linguistic and interpretative skills.
The participants demonstrated remarkable proficiency as they explained the meanings, contexts, and correct usage of various idioms and proverbs, reflecting a strong command over the richness of the Hindi language. The competition unfolded in a lively and intellectually engaging atmosphere, encouraging both learning and healthy competition.
The faculty members appreciated the students’ confident performances and observed that such literary activities play a vital role in deepening language awareness and cultural understanding. At the conclusion of the event, outstanding participants were honoured with prizes for their excellence.
President Shri Naresh Budhia, Senior Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, other members of the managing committee and Principal Dr. Pooja Prashar lauded the efforts of the department and its Head, Dr. Neena Mittal and Ms Divakshi for their dedicated coordination, stating that initiatives like these significantly contribute to nurturing students’ literary sensibilities and communication skills.
