PCM S.D. College for Women Celebrates National Librarian Day

Jalandhar August 23 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The Library Advisory Committee of PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, celebrated National Librarian Day in honor of Dr. S.R. Ranganathan, the father of library science in India. The event aimed to highlight the significance of libraries in education and society.

The college librarian, Ms. Sonia, addressed the students, sharing the history behind National Librarian Day and emphasizing the importance of libraries in shaping lives. She stressed the need for students to connect with the college library, develop reading habits from a young age, and understand the role of libraries in their personal and academic growth. She also reminded librarians of their mission to meet the information needs of students and teachers by providing a high-quality information system.

Principal Prof. (Dr.) Pooja Prashar also spoke on the occasion, describing the vital role of libraries in molding and shaping young minds. She encouraged students to make reading books in the library a regular habit to gain knowledge.

President Shri Naresh Bhudia, Vice President Shri Vinod Dada, other esteemed members of the managing committee, and the worthy Principal praised the Library Committee for organizing this meaningful activity.
