Jalandhar January 9 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- The NSS Wing of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar has organised a seven-day NSS camp with great enthusiasm from 9 January to 15 January 2026 on the theme “Golden India.”

The inaugural ceremony was graced by the Principal, Dr. Neerja Dhingra, as the Chief Guest. During the event, Muskan, a B.A. Part III student, expressed her views on India’s role in building a Golden India, while student Bhumika presented a classical dance performance.

To spread awareness about drug abuse, NSS volunteers staged a street play titled “Nayi Subah” (A New Dawn). On this occasion, renowned environmental expert Dr. Balwinder Singh Lakhewali from Punjab Agricultural University was present as the Resource Person for the first technical session of the camp. He shared detailed insights on indigenous trees and animals, environmental conservation, forest protection, nature camps, water conservation, and tree walks. He also shared his personal experiences from his journey in environmental protection and spoke on the importance of sustainable living.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Neerja Dhingra appreciated the students for participating in the camp with such enthusiasm despite the cold weather. She stated that the theme Golden India symbolises India’s rich heritage, culture, and history, while also reflecting the vision of a modern India progressing with development, self-reliance, and innovation. She extended her best wishes to the students for the activities planned over the next seven days and praised the dedicated efforts of Dr. Simki Dev, Dean of the NSS Wing.

Faculty members Ms. Ritu from the Department of Journalism and Mr. Chitraksh from the Department of Multimedia were also present at the event.
