Jalandhar July 18 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, renowned for its unwavering commitment to social responsibility, takes immense pride in the impactful contribution of its NSS volunteer, Akshat Sharma. Collaborating with the Municipal Corporation, Akshat has chosen a unique and artistic path to promote civic awareness—through a melodious and meaningful song that is now echoing across the city of Jalandhar.
In his heartfelt rendition, Akshat sensitizes citizens to the importance of maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings. The lyrics highlight pressing issues such as the indiscriminate disposal of garbage, the imposition of fines on vacant plots being used as dumping grounds, and the role of hygiene in preventing life-threatening diseases like dengue. His musical message is inspiring residents to take ownership of their environment and contribute to a cleaner, healthier city.
Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra lauded Akshat’s initiative, emphasizing that his voice has become a powerful instrument of change. She remarked that such efforts by young citizens are pivotal in transforming the vision of a clean and beautiful Jalandhar into a reality. Dr. Dhingra further commended the relentless dedication of Dr. Simki Dev, Dean of the NSS wing, for mentoring students to address societal issues with creativity and compassion. She expressed hope that the college’s NSS unit will continue to empower students to engage meaningfully with the community and inspire lasting change.
