KMV takes the Lead to provide New Age Education
Jalandhar December 1 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organized a press conference on New Initiatives in Higher Education–New Education Policy Implemented at KMV. Addressing the media representatives from various media houses, Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that having successfully completed 5 years of Autonomy, KMV has ushered in a new era of progressive quality education by introducing multiple academic reforms to provide global standards in Higher Education for the students of the region.
These first time initiatives are path-breaking educational reforms, in sync with the New Education Policy 2020 of Govt. of India. These decisions were finally approved by the Governing Body and Academic Council of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya which has representatives of UGC, Guru Nanak Dev University, Ministry of Education of Punjab and many eminent educationists from across the country. Some landmark & path breaking initiatives of KMV, legislated by the Governing Body of KMV under the Chairmanship of Sh. Chander Mohan, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal are:
Student Friendly Academic Initiatives:
• Upgradation of Syllabus as per Job Markets of 21st Century with Skill-based Teaching and Internships/Project based teaching in every program.
• Credit System – First college in this part of the region to implement internationally accepted credit system in all UG & PG programs.
• Option of 4 years Hons Programs & 5 years Integrated Programs in Commerce, Physics, English & Mathematics
• Syllabus has been designed with respect to Course Outcomesand Program Outcomes and its mapping is done from time to time to discuss its attainment
• Introduction of Interdisciplinary courses in PG Programs is another singular achievement. The interdisciplinary courses include- Communication Skills in English, Basics of Music (Vocal), Human Rights and Constitutional Duties, Basics of Computer Applications and Indian Heritage: Contribution to the world.
