Lyallpur Khalsa College Organises “Plasma 2026” – An Inter-College IT Fest

Department of Computer Science & IT at Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, successfully organized Plasma 2026, its much-awaited annual inter-college IT Fest, with great enthusiasm and participation. The event brought together talented students from various colleges, creating a vibrant platform for innovation, creativity, and technological excellence. Plasma 2026 featured 11 exciting and intellectually stimulating events, including AI Matrix, Web Craft, Brain Wars, Tech Trivia, Think in Slides, Brain Bits, Toons Mania, Shutter Spark, Digi Drama, Sketch-O-Vision, and Beat Blast.

The competitions witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 250 students representing different colleges, making the fest a remarkable celebration of talent, teamwork, and technical brilliance. The fest was formally inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Dr.Kuljit Kaur Chaha , Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science at Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. She inaugurated the event by lighting the ceremonial lamp and declaring Plasma 2026 open.

In a gesture of respect and gratitude, the Chief Guest was adorned with a traditional Phulkari shawl and presented with a memento to commemorate her gracious presence at the event. In her inspiring address, she highlighted the growing significance of technological education and encouraged students to continuously upgrade their skills to keep pace with the rapidly evolving digital era. The occasion was graced by Dr.Rashpal Singh Sandhu, Principal of Lyallpur Khalsa College, along with Heads of various departments and faculty members. Welcoming the Chief Guest, the Principal appreciated the efforts of the department in organizing such a dynamic event and emphasized that platforms like Plasma play a vital role in nurturing students’ creativity, confidence, and professional competencies.

Department of Computer Science & IT, highlighted the importance of such academic and technical fests in developing both technical expertise and essential soft skills among students. He expressed his delight in witnessing the enthusiasm and competitive spirit displayed by the participants. The event concluded with a grand prize distribution ceremony, where winners were felicitated for their outstanding performances. Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand delivered the vote of thanks and congratulated all participants, emphasizing the expanding scope and opportunities in the field of technological education.

The Overall Trophy of Plasma 2026 was proudly claimed by Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, while Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar secured the First Runner-Up position and Trinity College, Jalandhar emerged as the Second Runner-Up. The event was efficiently coordinated by Prof. Mandeep Singh Bhatia, with valuable contributions from faculty members including Dr. Sandeep Singh, Dr. Manpreet Singh Lehal, Prof. Ratnakar Mann, Dr. Daljit Kaur, Prof. Navneet Kaur, and Prof. Onkar, along with the dedicated support of the teaching, technical, and supporting staff.

The stage management was efficiently handled by Dr.Daljit Kaur, ensuring the smooth conduct of the entire programme. Plasma 2026 once again proved to be a vibrant celebration of knowledge, innovation, and youthful energy, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to promoting technological excellence and holistic student development.
