Jalandhar August 14 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- With immense patriotic fervour and high-spirited enthusiasm, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, celebrated India’s Independence Day today in a vibrant collaboration with the 2 Punjab NCC Battalion. The campus resonated with patriotic echoes as students, faculty members, and security personnel gathered to honour the nation’s rich history and hard-earned freedom. The celebrations formally commenced with a synchronized, soul-stirring rendition of the National Anthem, evoking a deep sense of devotion and unity among the gathering. A magnificent Tiranga rally was flagged off from the campus.
It made its way back from BSF chowk amidst proud slogans of Bharat Mata ki Jai. Adding grandeur to the event, a large number of NCC cadets from various other neighbouring educational institutions joined hands with the college cadets, turning the celebration into a powerful symbol of youth solidarity and collective resolve. Principal Dr. Rashpal Singh Sandhu in his message paid glowing tributes to the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for the nation.
In his inspiring message to cadets he said that independence is a priceless legacy earned through decades of unmatched sacrifice and struggle. Today, as we celebrate our nationhood, our youth must channel their energy towards ethical growth, innovation, and nation-building, ensuring that the tricolor always flies high. Representing the armed forces, Sub Suresh Kumar and other officers from the NCC battalion also joined the Tiranga Rally. Dr. Karanbir Singh, NCC Incharge, who personally supervised all logistical and ceremonial preparations to ensure the event’s resounding success.
