Jalandhar March 8 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Department of Computer Science & IT, Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar celebrated International Women’s Day. Chief guest of the function was Principal of the college Dr. Jaspal Singh who inaugurated the function by Cake cutting & highlighted the role & importance of women in our society in his speech. Dr. Jaspal Singh emphasized on women empowerment and said Women’s empowerment remains a pivotal focus globally for which Women’s day celebrated on March 8th each year.
This day serves as a reminder of the importance of gender equality. Head, Department of Economics & College Registrar Prof. Navdeep Kaur was also present among the dignitaries. She said that this day is celebrated to acknowledge the contributions of women worldwide and women play a significant role in societal progress.
On this occasion Head Department of Computer Science and IT Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand said Women play an integral part in society; without their progress, the overall progress of society comes to a halt.
The occasion was witnessed by the presence of Prof. Sandeep Bassi, Dr. Manpreet Singh Lehal, Dr. Sandeep Singh, Dr Daljit kaur, Prof Navneet Kaur and other faculty members.
