Jalandhar January 26 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Electoral Literacy Club at Lyallpur Khalsa college Technical campus organized an event for the students to celebrate the National Voter’s Day. It is the day to celebrate the right to vote and the democracy of India. The main objective behind the celebration is to encourage, facilitate, and maximise enrolment, especially for new voters. The theme of National Voter’s day was “Nothing Like Voting, I Vote for Sure” and this theme was conveyed by students by sharing their feelings and aspirations toward participation in the electoral process through the power of their vote.
Students (Kulvir Kaur, Konika Thakur and Mehakdeep Kaur) also shared their views by participating in Event: Speech Elocution and later on students and faculty took pledge to uphold the country’s democratic traditions and the dignity of free, fair, and peaceful elections. The pledge also stated that citizens will vote in every election without being influenced by considerations of religion, race, caste, community, or any inducement. Dr Sonu Dua (Associate Professor) and Er Silky Khurana (Assistant Professor) was the coordinators for the event.
At last, S. Sukhbir Singh Chatha (Director, Academic Affairs, KCL Group of Institutes) appreciated the Election Commission of India’s flagship program for voter education, voter awareness, and voter literacy in India.Dr. R.S. Deol (Director, LKCTC) lauded the efforts of the Event Coordinators of Electoral Literacy club to spread awareness among voters and promote informed and ethical participation in the electoral process.
