LKCTC observes International Mother Language Day with gusto

Jalandhar February 21 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Lyallpur Khalsa College Technical Campus Jalandhar organized an intra-college quiz competition based on Punjabi language to commemorate International mother language day. The quiz, showcasing the rich culture and heritage of Punjabi language, was organized by electronics and communication engineering department of the college.

The screened contestants were divided into four teams during the competition and they displayed their sharp wit and grasp of the language while answering questions asked under different five rounds highlighting Punjabi literature, proverbs, riddles , common words and much more. The audience present in the event: staff and students pledged to speak Punjabi, read, write, promote and spread the language during the event.

The team consisting of Amrinder Singh (ME-6th), Sanju (ME 8th), Vanshika (CSE 6th), Misha & Parineeta (CSE 6th) won the competition.

S. Sukhbir Singh Chatha, (Director, Academic Affairs, KCL Group of Institutes) while addressing students, described the mother tongue Punjabi as the language of Gurus and Saints. Dr R S Deol (Director, LKCTC) while honoring all the winning students with prizes, said communities which forget their mother tongue were reduced to dust.
