Creations of KMV budding entrepreneurs get highly appreciated from the various luminaries of the city
Jalandhar November 4 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) organised Diwali Extravaganza– An Exhibition- cum- Sale to celebrate the much-awaited the festive season with gaiety and enthusiasm. The Chief Guests for the Inaugural Ceremony of the gala event Sh. Chander Mohan ji, President, Arya Shiksha Mandal and Mrs Neerja Chander Mohan, Member, KMV Managing Committee were accorded floral felicitations by the college Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi. Dr. S.P. Gupta and Dr. Kamal Gupta, Members, KMV Managing Committee were also present on the occasion.
The event was jointly organised by the Post Graduate Department of Fashion Designing, Cosmetology Department, Fine Arts Department, Journalism and Mass Communication Department, Department of Textile Design and Apparel Technology, Department of Retail Management and Department of Hospitality and Tourism working under the aegis of DDU Kaushal Kendra and the Faculty of Sciences. The college campus wore a colourful and festive look on this day as variety of stalls were donned up with various handmade articles, Fun Games, Selfie Station, and DJ etc. to add to the overall ambience of the day.

Among the major attractions of Diwali Extravaganza were Innocreations by KMV’s budding entrepreneurs who put up their stalls to showcase their skills through a variety of creative items like healthy sweets and mouth-watering snacks, hand-made Diyas, gel candles, home furnishings, Jute bags, herbal soaps and a variety of decoration items like wall paintings, photo frames etc. The stalls of traditional handicrafts and other trinkets are also set up to let visitors go on a little shopping spree.
The college students enjoyed to their hearts’ fill while performing spectacular dances to the tune of popular numbers. A scintillating cultural Haryanvi dance presented by college girls regaled the huge gathering. Congratulating organizing team comprising of Dr.Madhumeet, Dr. Gurjot, Dr. Harpreet, Principal Prof. Atima Sharma averred that such festive events not only refresh and rejuvenate students but also provide them a platform to exhibit their creative entrepreneurship skills that make them self-reliant.
