Human Rights Day

Human rights are the foundation of social development: Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi

Jalandhar December 11 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) celebrated Human Rights Day with full zeal and enthusiasm. The celebrations were organised by Department of Political Science in collaboration with the Human Rights Department, Student Welfare Department, and K.M.V. Collegiate Senior Secondary School. In the events, including poster making and essay writing, students actively participated, raising awareness about human rights. Ridhima secured the first position, Himanshi Prabhakar secured second, and Khushi secured the third position in the poster-making competition, while consolation prize was awarded to Harnoor in the same category.

In the essay writing competition, Kavya Chadda secured the first position, Rabia Sharma secured the second, and Kritika secured the third position. Congratulations were extended to all the winners by the Principal Prof. Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi, who, during her address, discussed human rights in detail, emphasising them as the fundamental basis of social development. She appealed to everyone to respect each other’s rights, follow their duties with integrity, and adopt human rights in the true sense.

Madam Principal lauded the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet, Dean, Student Welfare, Mrs Ashima Sahni, Head, Political Science Department, Dr. Iqbal Singh, Mrs Veena Deepak, Coordinator and Mrs Anand Prabha, Incharge along with the teachers of the collegiate school for successfully organising the celebrations.
