Jalandhar March 8 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Innocent Hearts Group of Institutions, Loharan and Innocent Hearts College of Education marked International Women’s Day with a series of enlightening events. Mrs. Anita Saini, a distinguished Securities Market Trainer from SEBI, delivered a talk on the theme of ‘Economic Empowerment of Women.’ Her insights shed light on avenues for financial independence and growth. This was followed by a speech by a student named Tania on ‘Economic Empowerment of Women accelerates Growth.’

Additionally, a thought-provoking play was staged, illustrating the contrasting realities of economically dependent and independent women, showcasing the challenges and triumphs they encounter. The celebration resonated with the spirit of empowerment and equality, inspiring attendees to champion the cause of women’s advancement in society.

Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated International Women’s Day. The NSS Unit of Innocent Hearts College of Education celebrated International Women’s Day under the essence of ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ program. “Every Woman is a manifestation of divine power” with this theme, a Fancy dress competition was organised. The alumnae of the college and the would-be female teachers took part in this competition by wearing graceful traditional garments representing different cultures of various states of our country.

Their postures and style depicted Indian feminine beauty and pride. Nandini Luthra achieved first position with her Punjabi look and Yasmeen also grabbed first position in her Maharashtrian attire. Diksha Handa bagged second position in her Haryanvi dress and Gurpreet Kaur, Ms. Punjabi bagged third position in the Fancy dress competition.

A declamation contest was also organised in which many student-teachers participated actively. Nargis achieved first position, she spoke eloquently on the topic of ‘Women Empowerment’. Prabhjot Kaur recited a self-composed poem on challenges faced by Indian women.
