Jalandhar September 24 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- DD Pant Botanical Society of PG Department of Botany in collobration with the Eco Club celebrated World Ozone Day at Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya. To mark this occasion, the department held week long celebrations by organizing Poster Presentation, Slogan Writing and a Quiz Competition. The theme for the celebration was “From Science to Global Action”. 40 entries for poster and slogans and 22 teams for quiz from various streams participated in the events. In Poster Presentation Taniya, Ankita and Trishla bagged 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively.
In Slogan Writing Kamini, Taniya and Prabhdeep were adjudged 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize respectively. In Quiz Bhawna, Shadya and Simran of B.Sc. (Med) Sem 1 stood first, Gurleen, Gurjot and Himanshi of B.Sc. Med Sem 5 stood 2nd and Jobanjeet, Muskan and Sakshi of BCA Sem 1 stood 3rd. On this occasion Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs). Ajay Sareen congratulated the winners and gave away the medals. She stressed on the need to create awareness among the youth to save environment.
Dr. Anjana Bhatia, HOD, Dr. Ramandeep, Society Incharge, Dr. Shaveta and Ms. Harpreet Quiz Incharge and Dr. Shuchi, Incharge Poster Presentation were also present. Dr.Sakshi and Dr. Simmi acted as judge for poster and slogan presentation. Dr. Anjana Bhatia talked about air pollution and challenges world is facing due to it. Dr. Ramandeep presented vote of thanks.
