Jalandhar November 11 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Under the able guidance of Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen, the Department of Student Welfare of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized Scholarship Disbursement Ceremony for the distribution of The GREAT Scholarship of Guru Ravidass Educational Assistance Trust. S. Sewa Singh, Coordinator of GREAT Charity and Mr. Jaagir Chand were present as Chief Guest. Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen and Mrs. Binoo Gupta, Dean Student Welfare welcomed the guest with green planter. The occasion began with a formal welcome and a sincere gratitude to the sponsors whose persistent support has made these scholarships possible, by Mrs. Binoo Gupta, Dean of Student Welfare.
Dr. Charan Bunger, MBE, Chairman of the Guru Ravidass Educational Assistance Trust Charity UK, was specifically mentioned by her. She said that he is the charity’s founder and trustee and was named a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire for his contributions to the education of underprivileged and mistreated children in India.

With his unwavering support, Dr. Charan Bunger is assisting the HMV girls students in pursuing their dreams of education and becoming strong, independent women who may significantly impact the development of a better future. She said that with the generous support of The GREAT Scholarship, many needy students are able to pursue their studies further without the worry of financial constraints. Further, Ms. Dilpreet Kaur, Secretary of Student Welfare gavepower point presentation and explained about The GREAT Scholarship in detail.
The coordinator of the GREAT team S. Sewa Singh encouraged the students and said that our trust is providing scholarship to needy students from many years so that the students continue their studies without any financial worry. He addressed students and motivated to become self sufficient and become successful in life. S. Sewa Singh disbursed scholarship amount on behalf of GREAT Charity of Rs. 566000 to 48 beneficiary students.

Principal Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen extended deepest gratitude to the GREAT Charity for generous contribution to our students. She said the GREAT Scholarship has helped alleviate one of the most significant barriers i.e the financial burden of pursuing an academic career. She told students to utilise the scholarship for studies and get good results in exams She further said This scholarship is an investment in their futures and by extension in the future of our society. She also congratulated the the Department of Student Welfare for this successful ceremony and appreciated the efforts of whole team.
Some of the beneficiary students Rajni (Bsc Botany Sem I), Zeenat (BD Sem III), Naina (Bvoc MHC Sem III), Pooja Kumari (Bcom Sem III) and Jaspreet Kaur (BFA Sem VIII) expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support given by the GREAT Charity and promised to use this opportunity to the fullest and to give back to community in meaningful ways in the future. The stage was successfully conducted by Dr. Jaspreet Kaur. Mrs. Shefali Kashyap extended the vote of thanks.
