Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar once again created a history by bagging the Inter-Zonal Youth Festival Championship trophy for 24th time in row

Jalandhar November 11 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar once again proved that when it comes to the cultural events and exhibiting the art in its peek form, it stands inconquerable and can be beaten by nobody. The college has proudly won the Inter-zonal Youth festival championship trophy for the 24th time in row by scoring 155 points. It is worth mentioning here that GNDU, Amritsar organises Youth Festival each academic year in order to provide a platform to the students to exhibit their talent and recognise their hidden talent. In the academic session 2023-24, the Inter Zonal Youth Festival took place from 8th – 10th November 2024.

With their exceptional and excellent performances, along with the Championship trophy, the college proudly won the Music , Literary, Fine Arts, Theatre and Folk trophies as well.

During Inter Zonal Youth Festival, ACFA had participated in total 35 items. Out of which it bagged 1st position in 19 items – Folk Orchestra, Classical Instrumental (Percussion & Non – Percussion), Quiz, Group Bhajan, Group Song, Clay modelling, Photography, Classical Dance, Folk Song, Mime, Skit, One Act Play (in which Tanishtha and Sanyam received 2nd prize in the category – Best Female and Male actor respectively), Rangoli, Poster Making, Group Dance, Western Vocal (Solo & Group) and Western Instrumental (Solo); 2nd prize in 10 items – Kawishri, Painting on the Spot, Geet/ Ghazal, Costume Parade, Mimicry, Classical Vocal, Vaar Singing, Poetical Symposium, Elocution and Gidha (Harleen received the 3rd prize for being the Best Dancer) and 3rd prize in 4 items – Bhangra, Cartooning, Phulkari and Mehendi.

Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra sharing her ecstasy on this victory said that the college has been maintaining its legacy of giving best performances in Youth Festival for more than two decades now. She gave the credit of this victory to the infinite support provided by Dr. Sushma Paul Berlia, President, Apeejay Education, to whom she expressed her humble gratitude for without her farsightedness, able leadership and support in each and every way, this victory won’t have been possible and and Dr. Stya Paul (Founder Chairman) whose vision has led the college on this path.

Dr. Dhingra also congratulated the students who had worked hard day and night and whose consistent efforts beared this sweer fruit of victory. She acknowledged the efforts of Dr. Arun Mishra (Cultural advisor at College) and Dr. Amita Mishra (Dean, Youth Festival) and their mentors for guiding the students for Youth Festival and this historical moment. the great success of this programme.
