Jalandhar January 27 (Jaswinder Singh Azad)- Under the able guidance of the Principal Dr.(Mrs.) Ekta Khosla, the NCC and NSS units of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, celebrated the 77th Republic Day of India with great patriotism and enthusiasm. The programme began with a warm welcome of the Principal, Dr. Ekta Khosla, by the NCC officers, Lieutenant Sonia Mahindru, ANO (Army Wing) and CTO Mrs. Punima (Air Wing), along with the NSS officers, Dr. Jyoti Gogia and Ms. Harmanu. They all extended a cordial welcome to Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dean Academics.
Thereafter, the National Flag was ceremoniously unfurled by Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla, followed by a salute to the Tricolour by NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, teaching staff and non-teaching staff, which filled the atmosphere with pride and national spirit. Following the flag unfurling, Cadet Anantika of the Army Wing delivered an inspiring speech on Republic Day, motivating the youth and highlighting India’s progress and developmental journey. Her address encouraged young minds to actively contribute to the nation’s growth.
Dr. Ekta Khosla spoke eloquently about the Indian Constitution
A self-composed patriotic poem was beautifully recited by Dr. Jyoti Gogia, which deeply moved the audience and infused the environment with patriotic fervour. Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. Ekta Khosla spoke eloquently about the Indian Constitution and the sacrifices made by freedom fighters for the nation. She traced India’s freedom struggle beginning from the year 1857, paid rich tributes to the martyrs, and urged everyone to inculcate the spirit of patriotism in their daily lives. She also congratulated the staff members, students, NCC cadets, and NSS volunteers on this proud occasion.
The NCC cadets presented a solemn and disciplined “Veterans India March,” paying heartfelt tribute to the brave soldiers who have served and sacrificed for the nation. The march symbolized respect, gratitude, and honour for the shoulders that safeguarded the unity and integrity of India. The disciplined movement and patriotic spirit of the cadets created an emotionally charged atmosphere and reminded everyone of the invaluable contribution of veterans to the nation’s security.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Jyoti Gogia. The stage proceedings were efficiently conducted by Sergant Pahul Jabal and Sergant Archita Mangotra of the Army Wing. The function was also graced by the presence of Mr. Pankaj Jyoti Superintendent (Accounts), Mr. Ravi Maini, Superintendent (Admin) and Mrs. Seema Joshi Superintendent (General), along with other supporting staff, teaching staff, and faculty members.
